Brilliant!

Hi from Deby

She Community 2008

I love and look forward to the summer break each year,
A time of relaxing refueling refreshing and sustaining at Flaxmill Bay.
Seeking God and listening for his voice ready for another busy year

4 cats, husband, family, friends, and visitors come and go throughout that time.
We stay in a cosy little ‘builders’ portacom surrounded by tents on all sides and a central gazebo where we gather throughout the day and into the evening, for chats, laughter or a meal.
Sometimes 7 of us, sometimes 22+, either way the air is punctuated with laughter or screams of hilarious delight.

Our common purpose other than the obvious sun sea and sand,is to seek…time alone, away from the hustle and bustle of busy lives.
We all seem to search for those quite times and reflective times with God.
But most importantly hear from him what will unfold for 2008, and how we can interplay in that.
I find personally it can take quite sometime to unravel and hear clearly. To distract myself from the year we’ve just negotiated and navigated through.

My first tell tale sign that I’m not completely relaxed is that I am unable to be creative.
(That is, apart from the banquet meals we produce each night whilst camping here in paradise!!)
First signs of hope that life is ebbing back in are the strands of words that begin to thread themselves together into my first new years poem.
My desire & need to paint or perform some form of artistry begins to kick in .
The pile of books decline and sentences begin to make sense. I can begin to see the way through more clearly.

It has been an unusually exquisite summer this year. Glorious weather and sun filled days.
Each of us tickled pink as we are tucked in the corner of the property with books pens and note journals at the knee, ready to ponder and pursue prayerfully seeking out this years programs and all that God might be saying…. having the time to encourage one another, pray for or guide with wisdom and love or just hang out in a beautiful setting, be inspired by each other has been a privilege to watch and experience. I find a fresh new confidence and direction unfolding for this year.

Thoughts of mission, themes, idea’s for celebration, books, studies, relationships, disciplines all birth at this time and begin to take shape, forming plans and directions with pictures and people. So here we are with the year already started poised again to embrace this unfolding year.

For the year holds good things to experience ‘She community’

God’s richness and blessing as you seek him and we share the journey, may you find the best he has for you.
